Sens. Urge ITC To Approve Duties On Chinese Xanthan Gum

Law360, New York (June 12, 2013, 6:49 PM EDT) -- Sens. Saxby Chambliss, R-Ga., and Johnny Isakson, R-Ga., pressed the U.S. International Trade Commission recently to vote for anti-dumping duties on xanthan gum from China and Austria, according to a letter to the trade body released Tuesday.

The lawmakers pushed the agency to finalize its preliminary determination last summer that Chinese and Austrian exporters were harming domestic businesses by selling the food-thickening agent at below-market prices.
