J&J Battles Consolidation Of Ortho-Evra Lawsuits

Law360, New York (January 23, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Pharmaceutical giant Johnson & Johnson is fighting efforts to consolidate the bellwether trials in the multidistrict litigation over its popular birth control patch, Ortho-Evra, arguing commonalities in the cases are eclipsed by their idiosyncrasies.

The drug maker filed a motion Tuesday in the the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, asking the court to preclude consolidation of these “highly individualized” personal injury cases for trial.
