Morton Off The Hook For $1.5M Superfund Settlement

Law360, New York (June 13, 2013, 2:12 PM EDT) -- A New Jersey federal judge said Wednesday that Morton International Inc. doesn't have to help pay for a $1.5 million settlement related to asbestos pollution cleanup at a building it once owned, ruling that D.S.C. of Newark Enterprises Inc. failed to prove Morton contributed to the Superfund site's contamination.

The decision all but ends the battle over who is responsible for covering cleanup of a three-acre industrial site just outside Trenton, for which DSC has forked over $1.5 million and claims others need to help pay...
