EU Takes China To WTO Over Steel Tube Duties

Law360, New York (June 13, 2013, 1:31 PM EDT) -- The European Union has joined Japan in proceedings at the World Trade Organization challenging China's recent decision to levy anti-dumping duties on European and Japanese steel tubes, the EU said Thursday.

The 27-nation bloc lodged its complaint just under six months after Japan filed a similar challenge to the duties, which China imposed in November. Formally called high-performance stainless steel seamless tubes, the products are mostly used in power plant boilers.
