Suits Over 2 Stryker Hip Implants Combined Into Minn. MDL

Law360, New York (June 13, 2013, 3:43 PM EDT) -- A federal judicial panel centralized lawsuits against Stryker Corp. over two allegedly defective metal hip replacement devices in Minnesota on Wednesday, rejecting the company's request that the litigation only include suits over just one of the implants.

Stryker preferred Minnesota as the venue for litigation over injuries allegedly caused by the Rejuvenate and ABG II modular-neck stems. The company recalled the components in June 2012, saying they could fret or corrode, harm body tissue and cause pain or swelling.
