Assent Employee Pleads Guilty To Insider Trading

Law360, New York (January 23, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- A former compliance officer at the brokerage firm Assent LLC has reportedly pled guilty to one count of conspiracy for his role in a scheme that netted millions of dollars through trading on inside information from Morgan Stanley & Co. and UBS AG.

At a hearing in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, Laurence McKeever admitted on Wednesday to receiving $30,000 to conceal insider trading by certain customers, Dow Jones reported.
