NY Regulators Greenlight $1.5B Fortis Utility Deal

Law360, Los Angeles (June 13, 2013, 6:49 PM EDT) -- Canadian power company Fortis Inc.'s $1.5 billion agreement to buy CH Energy Group Inc., the parent company of New York-based power company Central Hudson, was approved Thursday by utility regulators in the Empire State, Fortis has announced.

Fortis announced that the closing of the acquisition should occur shortly after the New York State Public Service Commission receives, reviews and accepts the commission's official written order.
