FTC, Phoebe Eye Settlement In $195M Hospital Merger Fight

Law360, New York (June 14, 2013, 3:26 PM EDT) -- A Federal Trade Commission judge on Tuesday temporarily withdrew the commission's antitrust challenge of Phoebe Putney Health System Inc.'s now-consummated $195 million acquisition of a nearby rival, after the two sides said they expected to settle the administrative case soon.

FTC Administrative Law Judge D. Michael Chappell granted a joint motion to withdraw administrative proceedings in which the FTC challenged Phoebe Putney's purchase of Palmyra Park Hospital Inc.
