Takeda, Lupin Trim Claims In Prevacid Patent Suit

Law360, New York (June 14, 2013, 7:09 PM EDT) -- A New Jersey federal judge on Friday agreed to pare claims in Takeda Pharmaceuticals Co. Ltd.’s suit accusing generic-drug maker Lupin Ltd. of infringing four of its patents for acid reflux drug Prevacid.

U.S. District Judge Joel A. Pisano signed off on the companies’ stipulation for partial dismissal in which Takeda agreed to drop its claims that Lupin infringed on three of Takeda’s four patents for Prevacid when it sought federal approval to launch a generic version of lansoprazole, the active ingredient in delayed-release capsules and...
