Calif. High Court Takes On Asbestos Supplier Case

Law360, New York (June 17, 2013, 7:40 PM EDT) -- The California Supreme Court decided Wednesday that it would review whether a company that supplied raw asbestos to a product manufacturer can be found liable for failing to warn a user of that product about the dangers of asbestos.

The high court granted Special Electric Co. Inc.'s petition for review in a suit brought by a man whose mesothelioma was allegedly caused, at least in part, from handling pipes made by Johns Manville Corp. that contained asbestos supplied by Special Electric.
