Developer Barred From Bankruptcy For Gaming System

Law360, Miami (June 17, 2013, 6:35 PM EDT) -- A Florida bankruptcy judge ruled Monday that a Miami developer's recent spate of bankruptcy filings was part of a scheme to “delay, hinder or defraud” a creditor holding an $18 million foreclosure judgment on a downtown Miami property, and barred the developer from future petitions.

Judge Laurel M. Isicoff concluded that Miami developer Renzo Renzi had abused the bankruptcy system by regularly filing bankruptcy cases just before a scheduled foreclosure sale without complying with any of the obligations of a debtor under the Bankruptcy Code....
