EU Studies Input On Cartel Settlement Plan

Law360, New York (January 24, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- The European Commission has posted comments from the public on a plan to allow faster and cheaper settlements for companies that own up to their involvement in a cartel, which the commission says would free up resources and allow it to pursue more cases.

The commission received nearly 50 public comments, many of them from international law firms, including Allen & Overy LLP, Howrey LLP, Baker & McKenzie, WilmerHale, and others. The U.S. and French commerce departments also submitted comments, as did a number of industry...
