Ascension Health Wants Out Of 'Serial Relator' FCA Suit

Law360, New York (June 19, 2013, 4:27 PM EDT) -- Nonprofit hospital operator Ascension Health asked a Tennessee federal court Tuesday to toss a False Claims Act suit from a purported “serial relator” accusing the hospital of submitting false claims to Medicare.

Ascension says qui tam relator Stephen McMullen, who worked at the company-owned Baptist Hospital in Nashville, lacks evidence for his suit alleging the hospital network submitted false claims to the government for “noninvasive vascular diagnostic studies.”
