Ex-U Of Miami Fullback's Suit Against Filmmaker Tossed

Law360, Miami (June 26, 2013, 7:10 PM EDT) -- A Florida state judge on Wednesday dismissed a former University of Miami football player's suit alleging filmmaker Billy Corben did not pay him for work on the ESPN film “The U,” but gave the plaintiff 45 days to amend his complaint with the contract he claims was breached.

Kevin Brinkworth Jr., who played fullback for the Hurricanes from 1991 to 1996, filed the suit in February seeking damages under claims of breach of contract and unjust enrichment against Corben, who is best known for his documentary “Cocaine Cowboys”...
