Texas City Sues Fertilizer Plant Owner Over Deadly Blast

Law360, New York (June 24, 2013, 3:45 PM EDT) -- The city of West, Texas, which was rocked by a devastating fertilizer plant explosion that killed 15 people in April, hit Adair Grain Inc. and CF Industries Inc. with a lawsuit Friday alleging the companies failed to properly manage large amounts of the fertilizer ingredient ammonium nitrate.

Several lawsuits have already been filed against Adair, which owns West Fertilizer Co., the company in charge of the destroyed facility. CF had supplied agricultural grade ammonium nitrate manufactured at its plant in 
Yazoo City, Miss., to West
