E&Y Objects To Document Request In Sphinx Case

Law360, New York (January 28, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Ernst & Young has slammed a request for documents filed by bankrupt fund Sphinx Funds Trust Inc., claiming that the request is an attempt to gain access to confidential tax documents prepared for bankrupt futures broker Refco Inc.

In an objection filed on Jan. 25 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York, E&Y asked the court to deny Sphinx's request for access to documents and witness interviews on the grounds that the information is only tangentially related to the fund's bankruptcy...
