NYC Can't Duck EMT Negligence Suit In State High Court

Law360, Los Angeles (June 25, 2013, 4:24 PM EDT) -- The New York Court of Appeals on Tuesday ruled that the mother of girl who suffered brain damage after she was allegedly given subpar care by medical technicians can sue New York City for negligence, saying the municipal defendants may have owed a “special duty” to the injured party.
