Ex-NJ County Sheriff Cops To Bribes-For-Jobs Scheme

Law360, New York (June 25, 2013, 8:34 PM EDT) -- A former county sheriff and Democratic party leader in New Jersey pled guilty Tuesday to pocketing roughly $112,000 in bribes from those hoping for jobs or promotions in the law enforcement agency that he oversaw for nearly 30 years.

One-time Middlesex County Sheriff and Middlesex County Democratic Party Chairman Joseph C. Spicuzzo, 67, copped to the jobs-for-cash scheme in Monmouth County Superior Court along with two former underlings, according to Acting Attorney General John J. Hoffman.
