Daiichi Sankyo Loses Bid To Ship Sex Bias Suit To NJ

Law360, New York (June 26, 2013, 2:26 PM EDT) -- A California federal judge on Tuesday refused to ship to New Jersey a putative class action accusing drugmaker Daiichi Sankyo Inc. of giving women short shrift on promotions and pay, denying a transfer bid the plaintiffs said would have caused them “severe hardship.”

U.S. District Judge Claudia Wilken denied Daiichi's motion to transfer venue, holding that the company had not established that the “balance of inconveniences” weighed heavily in favor of sending the putative class and collective action to Daiichi's home state of New Jersey....
