$47M Penthouse Sale Breaks Downtown NYC Price Record

Law360, New York (June 26, 2013, 5:29 PM EDT) -- The top penthouse at Alexico Group's 58-story residential skyscraper in New York's Tribeca neighborhood has sold for $47 million, smashing the previous record for the most expensive residence ever sold in lower Manhattan, the building's marketer announced Wednesday.

The deal is the biggest in a number of high-dollar apartment sales at the luxury residential building 56 Leonard, whose units hit the market in March ahead of a predicted 2015 completion. The building was designed by Swiss architecture firm Herzog & de Meuron.
