Video Game Regulator To Cover Mobile App Privacy, COPPA

Law360, New York (June 26, 2013, 9:28 PM EDT) -- The video game industry's self-regulatory body expanded its services Tuesday to help companies better manage mobile privacy issues and comply with their expanded obligations under the Federal Trade Commission's revised privacy rule for children that will take effect next week.

In the face of recent pressure to ensure privacy protections for children and for data stored on mobile devices, the Entertainment Software Rating Board said it had elected to broaden its privacy seal certification program to cover those areas.
