Congress Hears Arguments For Regulatory Reform

Law360, New York (November 17, 2005, 12:00 AM EST) -- A Congressional panel heard arguments Thursday for and against revamping the securities industry’s current regulatory regime from industry bigwigs including the chief officers of the New York Stock Exchange and the National Association of Securities Dealers.

The hearing focused on ways to address the inefficiencies in the current self-regulating organization system as highlighted by a Securities and Exchange Commission report issued earlier this year.
