Pa. House Plan Grows Transportation Funds By Over $2B

Law360, New York (June 27, 2013, 7:30 PM EDT) -- A Pennsylvania House panel on Thursday advanced a plan to grow the state's transportation funding by more than $2 billion in five years by uncapping a franchise tax that is assessed against fuel distributors, among other measures.

The House Transportation Committee submitted several amendments to Senate Bill 1, which relies on uncapping the state's oil company franchise tax to generate substantial revenue.
