$2.6B Budget For LAX Transit Project OK'd By Metro Board

Law360, Los Angeles (June 28, 2013, 4:00 PM EDT) -- The Los Angeles Metropolitan Transport Authority board of directors Thursday voted to approve a contract for Walsh/Shea Corridor Constructors to begin the Crenshaw/LAX Transit Corridor Project, a $2.6 billion 8.5-mile light-rail line intended to ease congestion to Los Angeles’ biggest airport.

The vote comes a month after the Federal Transit Administration urged a California federal judge to dismiss efforts by a community group to halt the light-rail project that will run between the Expo Line and the Metro Green Line and allow for convenient public transportation...
