Independent Studios Sue MPAA Over Screener Videos

Law360 (November 26, 2003, 12:00 AM EST) -- Fourteen independent film studios have filed suit in the U.S. District Court in Manhattan against the Motion Picture Association of America to force the trade group to allow the distribution of "screener" videos to cinematic award voters.

U.S. District Judge Michael B. Mukasey will hold a hearing on Wednesday concerning a request for a temporary restraining order in the matter.
