NJ Supreme Court To Hear Juror Substitution Row

Law360, New York (June 28, 2013, 5:58 PM EDT) -- The New Jersey Supreme Court is poised to offer new guidance on juror substitutions in criminal cases following its decision Friday to consider whether a judge can replace a sick juror on a panel that has already announced a deadlock.

The high court granted certification to a petition from the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office, which is fighting a state Appellate Division ruling from Dec. 28 that overturned the murder convictions of Michael Ross II.
