Obama's Picks For GSA, NRC Win Senate Approval

By Lance Duroni (June 28, 2013, 4:06 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Senate on Thursday voted to confirm President Barack Obama's nominee to head the U.S. General Services Administration, and also cleared the current chair of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission to serve a full, five-year term.

Dan Tangherlini, acting GSA administrator, was confirmed in that position by unanimous consent, while Allison Macfarlane, appointed to the NRC's top post last year, won a second confirmation vote after filling out the remainder of former chairman Gregory Jaczko's term.
