SEC Nears Settlement With Ex-Schottenfeld Trader

Law360, New York (June 28, 2013, 7:52 PM EDT) -- A former Schottenfeld Group LLC trader linked to the insider trading ring run by Zvi Goffer is close to settling a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission suit against him, a lawyer for the commission said Friday.

The SEC claims that Joseph M. Mancuso, who was a friend and colleague of Goffer's when the two worked together at Schottenfeld, traded on inside information ahead of deals involving 3Com corp., Hilton Hotels Corp., Axcan Pharma Inc. and other companies. The commission filed its complaint in April.
