PE Real Estate Fundraising More Than Doubles In Q2: Report

Law360, New York (July 1, 2013, 3:08 PM EDT) -- Coming off a weak start at the beginning of the year, private real estate fund closings in the second quarter hit $17.3 billion, which was more than double the estimated $6 billion that closed in the first quarter, according to a Monday report from industry consultant Preqin Ltd.

North American-focused funds led the charge, raising commitments of about $15.3 billion, with the rest split among three Europe-focused funds and four Asia-focused ones, Preqin said. Further, another $16.1 billion was raised in interim closes by 51 funds...
