Fosamax Judge Tosses Leftover Class Action Claims

Law360, New York (January 29, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- The federal judge presiding over the Fosamax case has dismissed a host of claims connected to a push for a dental monitoring class in the multidistrict litigation that centers around whether Merck & Co.'s osteoporosis medication leads to painful deterioration of the jaw.

U.S. District Judge John Keenan bounced with prejudice Monday the remaining class claims connected to a quartet of suits that had been seeking certification for the medical monitoring of patients who had yet to develop osteonecrosis.
