It's Official - Huntington Beach Is "Surf City"

By Ryan Davis (January 29, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- A trademark dispute that raised the question of which California city can officially claim the title of "Surf City USA" ended in a wipeout for two Santa Cruz surf shop owners, while Huntington Beach will continue to ride the waves as the rightful holder of the title.

Under a settlement agreement, Bruce and Ginger Noland of Santa Cruz agreed to stop selling T-shirts emblazoned with the slogan "Surf City Santa Cruz California, USA" at their two shops in the city. They will also end their legal challenge to the trademark on the term "Surf City USA" held by the Huntington Beach...
