Criminal Victim Payouts Exempt From Fee, Says Texas Judge

Law360, Dallas (July 1, 2013, 6:50 PM EDT) -- In what he called a case of first impression in the state, a Texas state judge on Monday said attorneys cannot collect a contingency fee on criminal restitution payments made to victims they represent.
