China Starts Antitrust Probe Into US, EU Baby Food Cos.

Law360, New York (July 2, 2013, 2:35 PM EDT) -- Chinese authorities are launching an antitrust investigation into possible price-fixing by Nestle SA  and other foreign importers of baby formula, according to reports in Chinese state media on Tuesday.

The National Development and Reform Commission, China's national economic planning body, is investigating Nestle, Abbott Laboratories, Mead Johnson Nutrition Co., Danone SA's Dumex, and Royal FrieslandCampina NV, according to reports in the state-run People's Daily and its subsidiary Global Times.
