DNA Replication Suit Favors Invitrogen In Federal Circuit

Law360, New York (November 21, 2005, 12:00 AM EST) -- Molecular biology company Clontech Laboratories Inc. will return to district court in worse shape after the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit reversed favorable rulings over patents for creating libraries of cloned DNA.

California-based Clontech was sued in December 1996 by rival California firm Invitrogen Corp. in U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland, asserting three patents for the process, all continuations relating to an original patent application.
