Union Accuses Fla. Of Cutting Corrections Officer Holidays

Law360, New York (July 8, 2013, 7:59 PM EDT) -- A Teamsters unit that represents about 20,000 Florida Department of Corrections officers on Wednesday filed a complaint against the state contending it is unlawfully trying to waive the officers' right to their paid holiday time if they don't use it within a prescribed period.

Teamsters Local 2011 filed a complaint with the Florida Public Employees Relations Commission alleging the state committed an unfair labor practice by insisting on the waiver language and refusing to change it by the time Gov. Rick Scott issued his proposed budget...
