Hospital Liens Not Subject To Trade Laws, Fla. Court Says

Law360, New York (July 8, 2013, 3:11 PM EDT) -- A Florida appeals court on Friday agreed that Baptist Hospital Inc. couldn’t assert liens against a class of individuals who received medical care in hospitals in another county, but that its liens were debt collection practices not subject to consumer protections under trade or commerce law.
