Enviros Score $2M Deal To Settle PG&E Plant Pollution Beef

Law360, New York (July 9, 2013, 2:33 PM EDT) -- Three environmental nonprofits have won a $2 million settlement they will use to mitigate the environmental fallout from a planned 624-megawatt natural-gas-fired power plant in Oakley, Calif., slated for acquisition by Pacific Gas & Electric Co., they said on Monday.

Under a consent decree, project developer Radback Energy Inc. will pay $300,000 through its subsidiary Contra Costa Generating Station LLC once it secures financing to construct the Oakley Generating Station, with the plant's successor on the hook for another $1.7 million over the next 10 years...
