Taiwan Tech Firm Hits Samsung With Networking Patent Suit

Law360, Los Angeles (July 10, 2013, 7:58 PM EDT) -- A Taiwanese technology research firm slammed Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. with a patent infringement suit in Texas federal court on Monday, saying Samsung's networking systems infringe on its patented network design.

Institute for Information Industry, the Taiwanese firm, claims Samsung is using its patented technology to run, among other communications systems, Samsung's Smart MBS, a branded system of networking that enables users to hand off data from a wireless phone network to a wireless Internet network efficiently.
