Mass. High Court Backs State AG In Law Firm Probe

Law360, New York (July 9, 2013, 9:34 PM EDT) -- The Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court has greenlighted the state attorney general’s probe into a law firm’s handling of mortgage foreclosure and tenant eviction cases, a move that the AG applauded on Monday for preserving the office’s investigatory power.

Affirming a lower court decision, the appellate court held on June 28 that the AG can go forward with two civil investigative demands that it has lodged at Harmon Law Offices PC, led by Mark Harmon, over its foreclosure and eviction practices.
