Boxer Pushes For State Chemical Safety Protections

Law360, New York (July 9, 2013, 4:17 PM EDT) -- Senate Environmental and Public Works Committee Chairwoman Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., continued her crusade for vigorous chemical safeguards on Tuesday, sending letters to all 50 governors calling for new measures to prevent ammonium nitrate explosions like the blast that killed 14 people in Texas earlier this year.

Boxer asked the state executives to bolster safety standards by building on applicable state requirements and Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations that have been in place for decades in order to better prevent the loss of life at facilities...
