SEC Lets Rhode Island Off The Hook In Pension Probe

Law360, New York (July 9, 2013, 7:53 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has closed its investigation of Rhode Island’s pension financial disclosures and will not any take enforcement action as the state continues to implement an array of reforms, state Treasurer Gina Raimondo said on Tuesday.

Raimondo called the news a reason for public workers to feel reassured that their pensions are being handled properly after a years-long investigation of the Ocean State’s financial records.
