Jury Wrongly Decided Worker's Status, Pa. High Court Told

Law360, Philadelphia (July 10, 2013, 6:44 PM EDT) -- A contractor told the Pennsylvania Supreme Court on Wednesday that a jury had been improperly allowed to determine the employment status of an ex-worker awarded $1.5 million in damages after being injured on the job, saying state law required a judge to make that determination.
