Sierra Club Rips NJ Enviro Regulator's Enforcement Stats

Law360, New York (July 11, 2013, 4:30 PM EDT) -- A more than 50 percent drop in New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection enforcement actions between fiscal years 2008 and 2012 suggests the regulator is either ignoring violations or sweeping them under the rug, the state chapter of the Sierra Club contended Thursday.

The organization — a frequent critic of Gov. Chris Christie's environmental policies — bashed that allegedly disturbing trend found in a compliance and enforcement report from the DEP for fiscal years 2011 and 2012.
