Omnicare Settles FCA Kickback Suit, After Yearlong Delay

By Stewart Bishop (July 11, 2013, 2:31 PM EDT) -- An Illinois federal judge on Tuesday signed off on the dismissal of a whistleblower's kickback and False Claims Act suit against pharmacy service provider Omnicare Inc., following an agreement on a settlement that took almost a year to finalize.

U.S. District Judge John J. Tharp Jr. approved the deal and dismissed all claims against Omnicare with prejudice following the consent of Florida, Illinois and the U.S., which are each set to receive a piece of the action.
