Germany Fines Steel Co. €10M Over Rail Cartel

Law360, New York (July 11, 2013, 8:11 PM EDT) -- German antitrust regulators on Thursday fined Moravia Steel Deutschland GmbH €10 million ($13.1 million) as part of an investigation into bid-rigging on rail supplied to the country's national railway operator, Deutsche Bahn AG.

The fines against Moravia Steel, announced in a statement from Germany's Federal Cartel Office, come as part of a broader investigation into an alleged rail cartel involving a number of companies, the regulator said.
