Mexico Antitrust Watchdog Limits Beer Supply Deals

Law360, New York (July 12, 2013, 3:18 PM EDT) -- Mexico’s competition watchdog on Thursday announced new limits on the country’s largest beer manufacturers in an attempt to crack open the market for craft brewers.

The Comision Federal de Competencia said it had been investigating allegations that Cerveceria Cuauhtemoc Moctezuma SA de CV, which makes Sol and Tecate, and Grupo Modelo SAB de CV, which makes Corona and Modelo, have monopolized the beer market in Mexico.
