U.S. Regulators Approve Midwest Airline Acquisition

Law360, New York (January 31, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- The U.S. Department of Justice has approved private equity group TPG Capital LP and Northwest Airlines Corp.'s $450 million acquisition of Midwest Air Group Inc., Midwest Airline's parent, a deal that had raised eyebrows within the antitrust community in recent months.

Midwest announced Wednesday that the DOJ had ended its investigation about the acquisition. The deal is expected to close Thursday, Midwest said.
