NJ Town's Ex-CFO Says Whistleblowing Led To Firing

Law360, New York (July 16, 2013, 8:06 PM EDT) -- The onetime head of finance for the Township of Belleville, N.J., has launched a whistleblower suit against the municipality, claiming she was fired for raising alarms that other public employees were stealing time.

After she was appointed acting chief financial officer of the northern New Jersey town in April 2012, Susan Corrado allegedly discovered that employees were ripping off the municipality for work not performed or hours not served, according to the July 3 suit in Essex County Superior Court.
