State Lawmakers Pile On To Terrorism Insurance Campaign

Law360, New York (July 15, 2013, 9:12 PM EDT) -- A group of state lawmakers on Thursday joined a growing chorus of calls for Congress to pass a long-term extension of a federal terrorism reinsurance program created under the Terrorism Risk Insurance Act, saying private investment will suffer if the program isn't renewed.

The National Conference of Insurance Legislators adopted a resolution at its summer meeting in Philadelphia pushing Congress to reauthorize the TRIA program before its scheduled expiration at the end of next year, according to the American Insurance Association and the Property Casualty Insurers...
