Cosmetology School Can't Beat Class Cert. In OT Suit

Law360, New York (July 16, 2013, 1:41 PM EDT) -- A Minnesota federal judge on Monday granted class certification to admissions representatives for Regency Beauty Institute, a chain of cosmetology schools, saying the named plaintiffs had proven that the proposed class members were all subjected to the company's unwritten policy requiring off-the-clock work. 

U.S. District Judge Donovan Frank said that the small number of employees within the class — 155 admissions representatives who recruited new students and prepared incoming students for classes — as well as the fact that they all worked in the admissions department...
